Round Dhaulagiri Trek
The Round Dhaulagiri trek is one of the most challenging and beautiful trekking destinations that circles Mt. Dhaulagiri (8167m), the seventh-highest peak in the world. This trek starts at a very low altitude and passes through many different landscapes. The path goes through the snowline and reach three well-known base camps: Italian Base Camp (3600m), Japanese Base Camp (3890m), and Dhaulagiri Base Camp (4748m), from where climbers ascend Mt. Dhaulagiri.
Continuing the trek, trekkers reach the beautiful Hidden Valley (5140m) after crossing the French Pass (5360m). Trekkers can observe the closest views of Mt. Dhaulagiri, Mt. Tukche Peak (6920m), ice falls, glaciers, and the beautiful Hidden Valley meadow from the French Pass. The last pass of this trek, called Dhampus Pass (5244m), is the highlight of the trek. From this pass, trekkers can observe the spectacular 360-degree views of the Dhaulagiri ranges, Annapurna ranges, and the historic Kali Gandaki Valley. In higher altitudes, the trek turns into a fully self sustaining trip without any tea houses in the alpline region, so a camping trip is required.
