Most highlighted Round Annapurna trek
The Round Annapurna Trek is one of Nepal’s most iconic adventures, combining cultural encounters, natural beauty, and high Himalayan landscapes. The journey begins with a private Jeep drive from Kathmandu to Chame, where the trailhead awaits. From here, trekkers can visit the stunning Ice Lake above Manang and explore the culturally rich Manang village, surrounded by prayer flags, monasteries, and traditional stone houses. A side trip to the magnificent Tilicho Lake (4,919m), one of the highest lakes in the world, adds an unforgettable highlight.
The trek’s greatest challenge and reward is crossing the legendary Thorong La Pass (5,416m), offering sweeping views of Annapurna II (7,937m), Annapurna III (7,555m), Gangapurna (7,455m), Tilicho Peak (7,134m), and Dhaulagiri (8,167m). Descending from the pass, trekkers visit the sacred Muktinath Temple, an important pilgrimage site for both Hindus and Buddhists. The journey continues with a scenic Jeep drive through the Kali Gandaki Valley, the world’s deepest gorge, leading to Tatopani, where a relaxing soak in natural hot springs provides a rejuvenating finale.
The route is blessed with diverse flora and fauna, from subtropical forests with rhododendrons to alpine meadows and high mountain deserts. Wildlife such as Himalayan Thar, blue sheep, and a variety of birds can often be spotted. The best seasons for this trek are spring (March–May) and autumn (September–November), when the skies are clear and the landscapes are vibrant.
Moderate to high physical fitness is required, as the trek involves long walking days and high-altitude challenges. However, the breathtaking scenery, cultural richness, and spiritual encounters make the Round Annapurna a truly life-changing experience.
