Boudha Mahathaitya
Boudha Mahathaitya was enlisted in the UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1979 AD. Boudha is one of the biggest and the oldest Stupas in the world. According to the Buddhist mythology, this huge monument was said to be build in the 3rd life of Buddha (Kshyap) and is said to have his relics be the foundation of the monument. This is a famous tourist spot to witness the historical and cultural aspect of Nepal and Buddhism as a whole.
Pashupatinath
Pashupatinath Temple is one of the most highly respected Hindu Temples in the world. It was enlisted as UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1979 AD. This temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and Hindus all over the world flock to this place to worship the Shivalinga. On the banks of the Bagmati river, there are the cremation platforms. Devotees from all parts of Nepal want to be cremated here believing that all their sins will be cleansed by the river and will be fit to reincarnate to the next life as a human. The history, culture and the architecture are a sight to behold if you visit this sacred place.
